As the cold creeps up on us and we're heading into December, we’re thrilled to announce our Brand of the Month: Shapen. This Slovakian brand has won our hearts—and the hearts of barefoot shoe lovers around the world—with its unique blend of style, comfort, and vibrant colours.

Following the success of their Vegan Go and Empire Boots, Peerko recently brought out a great range of vegan shoes, and have expanded their range of vegan boots. We think they're a fantastic option for those of us that want to make a choice to wear an alternative to leather. Whether it be for reasons related to a vegan diet or just for practicality, we wanted to find out more about these amazing new vegan leathers and to understand the differences and benefits of each option, so we had a chat with Iva, from Peerko. We thought it worth sharing what we found.

When we first started looking to stock adults shoes at Happy Little Soles back in 2018 we wanted to focus on lifestyle shoes and occasion wear to try and fill the gaps in the adult barefoot market which seemed to be very focussed on barefoot running. Initially we had a very limited range but 6 years on we are finally pleased to have a full range of ballet shoes that we feel can meet most foot shapes and criteria. Here's a look at what works for different foot shapes.
